OURVISION
We exist to see every child flourishÂ
in the face of adversity and trauma.
OurMission
Change the future of child welfare in Nebraska by mobilizing a Gospel-centered community to support vulnerable children and families.
how do we do this?
Through our 3 programs:
Christian Heritage was founded by the late Gregg and Lisa Nicklas in 1980 out of a desire to care for children in Nebraska who needed a safe and loving home.
For the past four decades, the methods and programs have evolved, but our vision has remained unchanged.
Since the beginning, Christian Heritage has supported thousands of vulnerable children throughout Nebraska through programs that seek to prevent neglect and abuse, protect children, and restore families.
what We believe
Christian Heritage is committed to the historic Christian faith. We aren’t a part of any one particular tradition or denomination. Our statement of faith reflects this. It focuses on the essentials of what Christians have believed for 2,000 years.
We believe God created everything we see and can’t see. He created humans in his image and desires to have a relationship with us.
We believe that every person, though an image bearer of God, has sinned and needs to be rescued and renewed by Jesus.
We believe the Bible is the written word of God. It reveals God’s character and tells the story of his redemption in the world.
We believe that Jesus is the hero of God’s story of redemption.
We believe Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead to give us eternal life
We believe that we can have a relationship with God by placing our trust in Jesus. This is a gift from God and not something we can earn by our own effort.
We believe living in community with other Christians is essential for our growth and necessary to spread the good news of Jesus to the world.
